MISSIONARIES OF ST. FRANCIS DE SALES

“Do not be afraid! I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for he has been raised” (Mt 28:5)

Jesus who was crucified is risen! This is the basis of faith

“Do not be afraid! I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for he has been raised” (Mt 28:5). This is the Good News to every follower of Jesus. Easter celebrates the victory of love over hatred, mercy over sinfulness, truth over lies, and life over death. After the disciples accepted the utter defeat of Jesus, they were about to leave Jerusalem in sheer disappointment thinking everything was finished. But the Risen Lord transformed his followers and brought new light on his identity, mission and death. This encounter with the Risen Lord initiated and continues to enthuse the mission of the Church to the ends of the world. Jesus who was crucified is risen! This is the basis of faith and meaning of Christian life.

No human power can triumph over the power of unconditional love. As it is said, ‘there is no evil from which good cannot come’. This Easter joy of resurrection cannot be kept hidden. Like Mary who ran to tell Peter and others that she has seen the Lord, we are called to share both our joy and the cause of our joy. It is this cause of our joy that gives us meaning and purpose for our journey on earth. Let us witness our Joy to people who have lost their joy of life.
“Our God, after the storms, will send the calm” (St. Francis de Sales).
Happy Easter! Live Jesus!

PRAYER OF DEVOTION IN HONOUR OF FATHER PETER MERMIER, SERVANT OF GOD

God of love, You care for us and You guide us in numer- ous ways. We thank You for inflaming the heart of Fr. Peter Mermier with an intense love for You and a zeal for the salvation of souls. You blessed him with a total trust in You and in humble surrender to Your Holy Will. It was your will that he should found the Congregation of the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales, and with Mother Claudine Echernier, the Congregation of Sisters of the Cross of Chavanod, to spread your mercy and compassion to all, by witnessing to Your love and through their prophetic ministries. His life of holiness was his supreme act of glory to You.

Loving Father, while he was on earth, You blessed many through him, especially in the renewal of Christian faith and family through the spirituality of St. Francis de Sales. You raised him to the saintly state of Servant of God. Thereby, You testify that he is Your highly favored son for whom You refuse nothing. So we pray that through his holy intercession, You bless us now with the favor we request and pray for.....(silence)

We make this prayer through Christ Your Son who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever.

One Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be to the Father Amen.
